June 8, 9, and 10
the unseen archives of famed architect Joseph Goddard will be on show from 11am-4pm, with a special focus on country houses. This 'Back to Goddard' exhibition will take place at 31 Granby
Tuesday June 12 the Medieval Research Centre based at the University of Leicester encourages the public to attend their lecture: 'A Treasury of Heavenly Things: Extracting the Sacred from the 'Colonial' Kingdon of Jerusalem'. The lecture starts at 5.15
and will be held in the Attenborough Film Theatre. For more information click
Saturdays June 9 and 16 a free exhibition - 'The History of Ibstock’s Schools' - will mark the 200th
anniversary of the building of Ibstock National School, and include details of the history of every school in Ibstock. For more details on times and locations see attached document 'IbstockSchools'.
Saturday June 16 at 10.30am Cynthia Brown will be leading a guided tour of Radical Leicester. Tickets are £4.50 each, and to

Monday June 18 Bob Trubshaw will be giving a free talk titled 'Medieval Carvings in Leicestershire and Rutland'
at the Quaker Meeting House on Queens Road, Leicester. The talk forms part of 'Artbeat', Clarendon Parks annual community arts festival. For more about Artbeat
Monday June 25 the Leicestershire & Rutland Branch of the Western Front Association will be hosting a talk by Nigel Atter titled 'The 2nd Leicesters in Mesopotamia'.
Non-members are welcome, though attendees are invited to make a voluntary donation of £3 towards costs. For more information click
Charnwood Borough Council
launched the Charnwood Heritage Plaque scheme to mark fascinating people, places and events in the borough. The first one will be unveiled on Armed Forces Day on
June 30 and your suggestions for future plaques are being sought. For more information, or to make your own nomination, click

- Prof. Sue Pearce (Museum Studies, University of Leicester) is looking for a doctoral/post doc person to do some research, editing, and imputing data relating to the early history of the Leicestershire parish churches.
The project should take an estimated 100 hours and will pay £15.00 per hour. For more information click
