Campaign News: Listing appeal to help save the Bowstring Bridge

An appeal has been lodged with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport against English Heritage's decision in August not to list the Bowstring Bridge and the Society are expecting an answer from them within the next few days.
Although not the longest steel girder bridge of this period still in existence, the skew span design needed to cross both the road and river below is unusual. This, and the importance of the structure in a local context, will, the Society hopes, be enough to make English Heritage reconsider their original decision.
