More on this Campaign: Bowstring Bridge Memorial

26 January 2010

                      THE BOWSTRING BRIDGE, LEICESTER.

The magnificent 400-ton Bowstring Bridge was demolished by Leicester City Council and De Montfort University in November 2009, despite a long-running campaign by the people of Leicester, who wished to see it retained for the enjoyment and instruction of future generations.

Leicester Civic Society is now launching a £1000 appeal for a permanent memorial in the form of a plaque to be erected on a building by the site of the great bridge. Please download the form and make your donation. If you are able please sign the gift-aid declaration - the society is a registered charity and your donation will therefore be worth 28% more than you have paid at no extra cost to yourself.

All donations will be receipted and donors notifying us of their email address will receive regular updates on the progress of the appeal and an invitation to the unveiling ceremony.
